Industry Leaders Groups (ILGs)

Industry Leaders Groups (ILGs) are the vehicle at the local and regional level by which industry and employers can influence, promote and support state government skills, training and employment priorities.

ILGs are made up of highly skilled, committed and influential employers who have strong links to industry and the community. Using their local connections and knowledge, ILGs help government understand and respond to the workforce challenges experienced by industry and employers in and across regions. 3 ILGs have been established across the Yorke, Southern Flinders and Mid North regions to provide leadership and advice that strengthens employment and skills development outcomes. Each ILG meets at least four times a year to progress their action plan and address arising issues or opportunities.

Regional Development Australia Yorke and Mid North (RDAYMN) were instrumental in establishing the Industry Leaders Groups and continue to be an important partner. As well as providing high level administrative support, RDAYMN act as strategic partners, providing invaluable information about the region and connecting Industry Leaders Groups to the regions Jobs and Skills Networks and opportunities. The Department of State Developments Regional Managers lead and facilitate the program’s strategic planning and collaborative activities in regions and are the primary conduit between ILGs and DSD.
