Employer Sponsored Migration
Employer Sponsored Migration is a program delivered by Immigration SA, under the umbrella of the regional boards of Regional Development Australia across the State.
The Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) allows Australian employers in regional and low population growth areas of Australia to recruit workers from overseas, or from those who are temporarily living and working in Australia, in order to fill skilled vacancies in their business that cannot be filled from the Australian labour market.
Any Australian employer can participate in the scheme as long as they are operating their business in a regional or low-population growth area of Australia. These areas are defined by legislative instrument by postcodes on the Commonwealth Government's Department of Immigration and Citizenship website.
The unfilled vacancy must be on a Skilled Occupations List or on a list of occupations that have been identified as priority skills for the State.
Our Workforce Development Officers monitor current and future skilled labour shortages across the region and provide practical assistance and information to streamline application processes.
