Regional Development Australia Yorke and Mid North has welcomed the announcement of funding for a key project under Round Two of the Regional Development Australia Fund (RDAF) worth $200 million.

The successful project, Wakefield Region Water Supply Upgrade, has secured $10,039,000 in the latest funding round, with a total project value of $30,118,000. The proposal is to construct a 47km mains water pipeline from the Upper Wakefield Storage, west of Auburn through Balaklava and Bowman’s to Port Wakefield.  This infrastructure would provide water for planned poultry farm development in support of investment in chicken processing facilities in SA.
