About the Role
As the A-N/MUM, you will play a vital role in supporting the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager (N/MUM) and leading a dynamic team of nurses and midwives within our aged care service. Your clinical expertise and leadership will ensure the delivery of high-quality care and the continuous professional development of less experienced staff. You’ll be responsible for overseeing patient care plans, resolving local care issues, and assisting with service delivery and management tasks, including staffing, rostering, and performance management.
You’ll have the opportunity to promote a collaborative, supportive, and positive work environment, contributing to quality improvement activities that enhance patient safety and care outcomes. What You’ll Do
- Provide proficient, person-centred clinical care to residents, ensuring the highest standards of service.
- Oversee the development and implementation of care plans and ensure timely, appropriate care outcomes.
- Mentor and support less experienced staff, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.
- Assist with management tasks, including rostering, staffing, recruitment, and performance processes.
- Lead by example, supporting change management initiatives and continuous quality improvement.
- Actively participate in team meetings and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate services.
- Contribute to patient safety, risk minimisation, and the overall efficiency of service delivery.
What You’ll Bring
- Registration (or eligibility) as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding a current practising certificate.
- A minimum of 3 years’ post-registration experience, or classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
- Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing/midwifery practice, with a commitment to maintaining high professional standards.
- Proven leadership and mentoring skills, with experience supervising students and less experienced staff.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a focus on resolving care or service delivery issues promptly.
- A passion for quality improvement, patient safety, and delivering exceptional care in an aged care setting.
