Orroroo is located in the upper north of South Australia, approximately 3 hours by road north of Adelaide. Situated at the base of the Flinders Ranges the area retains much of its 1880’s charm and is a popular tourism destination. The district has two major towns, Orroroo and Carrieton, with smaller historical locations of Eurelia, Black Rock, Morchard, Yatina, Pekina, Johnburgh and Belton dating back to the 1800’s.

District Council of Orroroo Carrieton seeks a visionary Chief Executive Officer to inspire Council’s administration, and support the Elected Body to deliver on its strategic plans, projects and ambitious objectives.

Assisted by a capable and close knit team, some of the key objectives will include:
-provision of inspiring leadership, effective change management, whilst engendering strong staff satisfaction
-ensuring high levels of engagement and customer  service with all internal and external stakeholders
-delivery of high quality strategic plans, programmes, budgets and financial reporting
-provision of timely,  quality,  statutory compliant reports, information and advice
-promoting Council as a highly professional, accountable, safe and effective authority in all situations.

With a strong desire to connect and immerse within this small and friendly community,  you will ideally be a seasoned CEO or a ready aspirant, possessing significant, broad and proven experience.

Financially literate, politically astute and possessing well developed written and verbal communication skills, you will apply your skills, knowledge and experience broadly, and have the ability to pivot your focus from hands on to strategic as required.

Tertiary qualifications and experience from local government or a transferrable sector will be highly regarded.
Resourceful, innovative and understanding how to work efficiently and effectively within a small organisation, you will skilfully navigate Council on a continued path to future success and sustainability.
