We are seeking four dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Workers to join our team in Port Pirie, South Australia. This role will focus on supporting a female client with behaviors of concern, ensuring their safety, well-being, and fostering their independence in a supportive environment.

My Support My Way is a registered NDIS service provider in South Australia and Victoria. MSMW provides support to the individuals those who have multiple disability (Mental Health/ Challenging behavior/ emotional regulation in common).

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, person-centered care to clients with behaviors of concern
  • Assist clients with daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, mobility, and social engagement
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans in collaboration with other professionals
  • Maintain a safe and positive environment for clients, managing challenging behaviors with patience and respect
  • Document and report on client progress, incidents, and any changes in behavior
  • Work closely with family members, health professionals, and other support staff

 

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience working in disability support, particularly with clients displaying behaviors of concern, is highly desirable.
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability or equivalent qualification
  • Strong understanding of challenging behaviors and behavior support plans
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations
  • A compassionate, empathetic, and person-centered approach to support
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Valid Australian Driver’s license and reliable transport
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and National Police Check
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Assist Clients with Medication Certificate
  • Manual Handling Certificate
  • Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate
  • Right to Work Check/Proof of Work rights, if applicable (for Visa Holders)
  • Vevo Check, if applicable (for Visa Holders)

 

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Positive Behavior Support (PBS) principles
  • Experience working in a community-based or residential support setting
