About the client:

Rex Minerals is an Australian mining company dedicated to the development of its flagship A$1.0B Copper-Gold Hillside Project located on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. The project will be a significant contributor to the South Australian economy and will provide employment opportunities for locals and for those looking to move to the area.

About the role:

The Environmental Engineer will provide professional and technical support, statutory compliance and continual improvement in relation to the effective management of environment, cultural heritage, property management and community. This will include compliance with environmental approvals, management plans and other statutory obligations. The scope of the role also includes management of company owned properties located near site including cropping and monitoring activities.

This position is based onsite working Monday to Friday and will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all environmental monitoring and reporting requirements and will complete inspections and investigations as required.

Experience required:

• A bachelor’s degree in an environment related discipline
• 3-5 years of experience in an operational environment position ideally in copper / gold mining
• Knowledge of environmental regulations, environmental management systems & sustainability principles
• Effective communication skills and community stakeholder engagement experience
• Proficiency is data collection, analysis and report writing
• GIS systems experience
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment
