This role will maintain the farm property and resources to the standard approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and in accordance with the principles of the Code of Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP). It will liaise with the Senior Veterinarian & Livestock Manager to coordinate farm & livestock activities to meet Company objectives on physical and financial budgets. This role will participate as a member of the Martindale Operations Leadership team to ensure Company objectives are achieved.
Principle Responsibilities
- Ensure that all animal health and welfare needs are met and that production stock is managed according to BTG requirements and established procedures. Liaise with the Company sheep health team as required to achieve Company objectives.
- In conjunction with the Senior Veterinarian & Livestock Manager contribute to the setting of financial budgets and ensure that the Farm & Livestock Department operates within agreed budget constraints.
- In conjunction with the Senior Veterinarian & Livestock Manager coordinate the purchase of new sheep from approved suppliers and oversee their introduction to the Martindale Farm.
- Assist the Senior Veterinarian & Livestock Manager in developing and achieving the property’s strategic plans to ensure BTG provides a leading and sustainable property management program.
- Ensure that all sheep, grazing, pasture management and fodder records are accurately maintained.
- Maintain a close liaison with the Production Manager, Production Senior Technicians, and Farm & Livestock Technicians to ensure that required animals are available when required for production.
- Contribute to the development of efficient work practices to optimise productivity.
- Coordinate and participate in the schedule of stock check for weekend & public holidays, and other tasks as applicable, to ensure sheep and dogs on the Martindale site to ensure animal welfare and Company policies are maintained out of business hours.

• Confident with the ability to work with employees at all levels of seniority utilising excellent communication skills, both on an internal and external basis
• Competent, methodical, highly organised individual who pays strict attention to detail and has the ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks accurately within a high-pressure environment. Organisational skills should be strong with an ability to plan ahead
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Highly self-motivated and directed
