About the Role
Goyder Wind Farm forms part of a new generation large hybrid renewable energy project and is located between the towns of Burra and Robertstown in South Australia’s Mid North region, approximately 2 hours’ drive from Adelaide.
Your role as a Wind Field Service Technician will see you performing scheduled and unscheduled servicing including troubleshooting, breakdowns, and repair of the latest generation of GE’s Cypress wind turbines and site infrastructure.
- Join the site team in undertaking tasks including annual maintenance, retrofit works, major component exchange and fault finding.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the organization’s JSA, LOTO, EHS and associated policies/procedures.
- Maintain reports using GE’s various software management tools and databases.
- Perform high voltage switching operations according to site procedures as required (electrical candidates only).
- Working a 37.5 hour working week and forming part of an on-call roster to working weekends and after hours as required; additional working hours are available as wanted amongst the team.
About You
Either of the following trade qualifications and skills are suitable for this role:
- Electrician or electrical fitter with unrestricted A-Grade Electrical License.
or:
- Mechanic or mechanical fitter.
The following training and experience is required for all candidates:
- Previous experience in renewables, power distribution, mining, oil & gas or other heavy industry (preferred but not essential).
- Experience with installation, replacement, troubleshooting and testing of electrical equipment (electrical candidates only).
- Experience with installation, replacement, troubleshooting and testing mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
- Must hold a current Australian Driver’s license.
- GWO Basic Training (preferred but not essential, training will be provided).
- GWO Advanced Rescue Training (preferred but not essential, training will be provided).
- Good technical aptitude and effective problem-solving skills
- Good communication and teamwork
- Intermediate level of computer skills.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office suite of applications, including Word and Excel.
