We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Early Childhood Worker to join our dynamic team and help us continue making a positive impact on the lives of children in Laura.

 

Position Overview:

The early childhood worker – rural care program is responsible to the preschool director/site leader for the provision of a quality long day care program and will contribute to the planning and evaluation of the program to meet the needs of individual children, their families and the rural community, in accordance with Department for Education policies and procedures and the National Quality Framework (NQF).

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care to children, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development.
  • Develop and implement engaging educational activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth.
  • Support children’s individual needs and encourage positive behaviours and interactions.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels valued.
  • Collaborate with other team members, families, and external professionals to develop and implement individual care plans.
  • Ensure the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the care environment at all times.

 

Key Requirements:

  • Must have attained or be working towards a Certificate III Early Childhood Education and Care qualification (approved qualifications published on the ACECQA website)
  • Qualifications in special education or other relevant qualifications, or equivalent experience in working with and teaching children
  • Ability to be a positive team member to assist in the implementation of education programs, facilitating learning through play and provide an inclusive and safe learning environment
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership and communicate and exercise initiative to work in partnership with parents and the community in the delivery of services to children
  • Ability to complete documentation – Learning Stories, observations, data, records for individual children.
