Role Overview
Located in Port Pirie and reporting directly to the Operations Manager you will work as part of a team to provide marine services to vessels and meet maintenance requirements for the port in Port Pirie, and other ports as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and operate Flinders Ports launches for pilot transfer, minor maintenance and servicing of main engines and ancillary equipment;
- Prepare statistics and reports of craft activities and performance;
- Assist with maintenance of port assets as required (i.e. navigation aids);
- Provide a short-term relief in other ports as required; and
- Use Oil Pollution response equipment as necessary under the direction of Transport SA or Flinders Ports emergency response coordinators.
Although your working week will comprise of 37.5 hours, after-hours work will be required as a part of this role and as such flexibility to work with ever-changing shipping demands is expected.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Master Class V Certificate of Competency;
- Marine Engine Driver Grade 2 of Competency;
- Administrative experience and strong computer literacy;
- Ability and experience working both independently and in teams; and
- High level of attention to detail and the ability to problem solve.
Desirable
- Understanding of Electrical systems and wiring programs.
