About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time Recycling Bottle Merchant/Administrator to join our team at YP Recycling in Kadina, SA 5554. In this role, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our recycling operations, as well as supporting our bottle/can and scrap metal collection and processing.

What you’ll be doing

• Handling the collection, sorting, and processing of bottles, cans and scrap metal from local businesses and individuals
• Unloading, processing/blocking product from depots throughout the Yorke Peninsula and SA
• Providing general administrative support, including data entry, filing, record-keeping and invoicing
• Lodging weekly and monthly claims
• Maintaining accurate records of all bottle and can collections and sales
• Liaising with customers, suppliers, management and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations
• Assisting with the implementation of recycling programs and initiatives
• Promoting the company’s recycling services

What we’re looking for

• Strong administrative and organizational skills, with experience in a similar role
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work well with a variety of stakeholders
• Familiarity with recycling processes, or a willingness to learn
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Able to follow instructions and sustain a labour intensive work environment
