About The Opportunity

In the role of Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the smooth operation of our busy kitchen. Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the ordering process and inventory management
  • Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes on the grill and fry area
  • Leading and mentoring chefs, fostering a team-oriented environment
  • Assisting the Head Chef with menu planning and special event preparations
  • Maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene and managing of day to day operations
  • Adapting to the fast-paced and high-demand nature of the hotel, especially during peak tourist seasons

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Must have attention to detail, cleanliness and organisational skills.
  • Flexibility to work across all 7 days of the week, including weekends
  • A Certificate III in Commercial Cooking and relevant food safety certifications
  • At least 2 years of experience in a kitchen environment, ideally in a similar role
  • A reliable and self-starting attitude, capable of thriving in a team-focused setting
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a small team
