POSITION VACANT | SOUS CHEF
Bush deVine Restaurant, a hatted restaurant based in the Clare Valley and located at Paulett Wines, is seeking a qualified Sous Chef to join our kitchen team in a full-time, salaried position. The successful candidate will be joining a small and energetic kitchen team that takes pride in providing high-quality Modern Australian cuisine with a focus on showcasing native Australian ingredients.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef, ensuring smooth and efficient operations
- Oversee food preparation, presentation, and quality control
- Manage kitchen inventory, food ordering, and supplier relationships
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen
- Train, mentor, and inspire junior kitchen staff and apprentices
- Ensure food safety regulations and workplace safety are adhered to
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or CDP
- Strong culinary skills with a focus on contemporary Australian cuisine
- Passion for using local, seasonal, and sustainable ingredients
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Creativity and a keen eye for detail in food presentation
- The candidate must be flexible and available weekends, and public holidays when rostering demands this.
