Golden North is proudly South Australian made and owned for over 100 years. We are still producing ice cream at the same factory since 1923 in Laura for the whole of Australia. This position information covers one of our job roles with our team in Laura, South Australia. The Role: The role of the store person is to ensure the unloading and storage of all on site deliveries including ingredients, packaging and containers through safe forklift operations. This also includes the transfer of stock around site – for example retrieving stored items and delivering to the factory using combination of forklift and pallet jacks. The stores area is also responsible for ensuring the security of the site entrance gates, through monitoring arrivals, allowing authorised vehicles and personnel onto site and collecting postal and package deliveries from the front gate and distributing these to the appropriate areas. The store person must confirm that any deliveries match consignment and invoice documentation. Other components of the role include: • Inspecting packing and ingredient trucks to ensure they are clean • Undertaking cleaning tasks within the store shed to ensure contamination does not occur • Following storage processes to prevent cross contamination of ingredients, Halal products, containers and allergens as stored on site • Ensuring temperature sensitive stock is within acceptable limits • Timely transfer of palletised ingredients and packing to factory • Transferring stock, chemicals, packaging, recycled waste to designated areas within the site • Preparation of paperwork for storage/ load out/ distribution (within store area) • Counting of stock and accurate inventory information is maintained • Ensuring isolated stock (on hold or rejected) is effectively managed • Reporting food safety or food quality issues to designated authority The Person – essential skills • Reliable transport, ideally Class C Drivers Licence • Current Forklift Licence (High Risk Licence - LF) • Ability to prioritise tasks and be ready to assist colleagues and other work areas when needed which may occur without notice depending on the factory operational needs at the time • Proficient mathematic skills needed to count stock, calculate pallet loads, items in inventory and volumes in storage using calculators and checklists • Reliable work ethic and the ability to work autonomously • Understanding nature of role includes a roster based system which may also require a semi permanent afternoon shift to oversee the on site logistical needs of operations • Proficient hand writing skills to complete forms, checklists etc that can be understood by others • Compliance with a range of essential food safety, hygiene, WHS etc requirements on site • Ability to plan and prepare ahead of time so the efficient operation of storage and retrieval systems on site is maintained at all times

Golden North operates Monday to Friday, span of hours being 5am-9pm and is subject to the (currently being FWC approved) Laura Operations (Enterprise) Agreement 2024

Minimum hours for position is expected to be about 25-30 hours per week but up to 38 hours per week is likely during summer period, or more with overtime

Weekend work may be available during busy summer season and penalty/overtime rates will apply

Hourly rates are currently $34.97 Casual or $28.15 Part/Full Time but will increase at the end of September pending FWC approval of above agreement

Reliable own transport to Laura is mandatory

Medical pre employment assessment (either recently undertaken or to occur at Golden North expense) is required in most instances, sometimes after commencement
