About Us

Our client is seeking a dedicated Veterinarian to assist in managing the health and welfare of their livestock, particularly sheep. The role involves implementing and monitoring preventative disease management strategies, diagnosing and treating diseases, and performing routine health testing. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Veterinarian & Livestock Manager to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including those of the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

 

About the role:

  • Assist in managing the health of the livestock by coordinating disease monitoring, testing, and treatment of sheep, while also maintaining dog health in line with SOPs.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic health management plans and health policies to meet regulatory standards.
  • Train staff on animal health and welfare practices, ensuring high standards of care.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external authorities to support efficient livestock management.
  • Participate in the sheep management and production team to ensure optimal animal health and production outcomes.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) legislation, policies, and standards.

Skills and Experience:

  • A degree in Veterinary Science or a similar field.
  • Registration with the SA and/or NT Veterinary Board.
  • Experience in sheep production, health management, pathology, and quality assurance is highly regarded.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with teams at all levels.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and execute them accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in IT skills is an advantage.
  • Must demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and a flexible attitude.
