About the role
Less than 2 hours from Adelaide, Wallaroo is a coastal town and popular holiday destination located at the top of the Yorke Peninsula. Wallaroo and surrounding towns are renowned for their coastline with plenty of beaches, jetties and swimming enclosures. The area is bursting with small businesses and eatery’s to explore and taste on weekends plus road trip opportunities down the coast to explore Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Parl and more of the Yorke Peninsula where camping, hiking, fishing and surfing are all popular activities. The following objectives for a Medical Scientist at the classification level of MeS1 are as follows:
- Contribute to the provision of a quality, multi-disciplined pathology service provided in regional laboratories.
- Undertake, facilitate, and apply scientific and technical knowledge and expertise to perform a range of routine diagnostic techniques, including participation in problem definition, planning, execution, analysis and reporting.
- With supervision, contribute to the development, selection and adoption of new techniques and methodologies.
- Provide roster support to all Regional Services laboratories

About You
You are a detail-oriented and proactive professional with a strong foundation in laboratory science and a commitment to delivering high-quality diagnostic services. Your ability to work collaboratively, manage competing priorities, and maintain technical precision ensures you thrive in a dynamic team environment.
- Demonstrated experience in general pathology and analytical laboratory procedures, including the use of laboratory equipment and software for data retrieval and processing.
- Proven ability to implement routine testing procedures with limited supervision, troubleshoot equipment issues, and develop practical solutions to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with a range of internal and external stakeholders while upholding confidentiality and professionalism.
- Sound understanding of scientific and laboratory principles, including quality assurance practices, with the flexibility to travel and adapt to changing operational needs.
