Emerging Leaders
For people with leadership potential and the willingness to have a positive impact on their community. Participants in this program will establish themselves as leaders able to take on new challenges and their first (or more significant) leadership roles.
This stream will be delivered as four leadership development workshops facilitated by Coo-ee Collective, delivered across three intakes across the Yorke and Mid North.
Workshops
1. Introduction to leadership
- What makes a great leader
- Understand the different types and models of leadership
- Understand your leadership style and how to work to your strengths
- How to show up as a leader and build on your vision, values and strengths
2. Foundation of governance
- Roles and responsibilities of Boards and management committees
- Understand constitutions, legal compliance, set strategy and manage risk
- How to make effective decisions, and tips for efficient meetings including agenda, minutes and reporting.
3. Understanding yourself and people
- Understand your personality and how to lead others.
- Explore different communication styles, approaches and the importance of trust
- Recognise how your values impact on leadership and culture
- Understand and build emotional intelligence
4. Building confidence as a leader
- Develop public speaking and presentation skills
- How to build confidence in your leadership abilities
- Understand and present your value proposition and build on your personal strengths

Course Eligibility
- Over 18 years of age
- Reside in the Yorke and Mid North (YMN) region
- Able to commit to four full day sessions
- Currently involved or aim to be involved in a local community group
Cost
The program is $100 per participant.
Participants have the option to be sponsored by a community organisation or club.
Options are available if you are experiencing financial hardship, please reach out to discuss.
