Overview

A great leadership opportunity is available for an Associate Nurse Unit Manager – Australian National Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC) to provide support to the Nurse Unit Manager in the leadership of nurses within the Care of the Older Person Team.

In this role, you will lead the site based AN-ACC assessments and ensure all assessments are completed for new admissions within 14 days of admission and formulate a person-centred care plan. You will attend the high-risk meeting and daily huddles at site level to understand the change in the care needs of the consumer. You will also provide support to clinical (nursing/DCW) staff and education for Leecare EMR.

As a Registered Nurse/Midwife you will also provide nursing and/or midwifery services in a variety of health services settings which has been consolidated by experience and/or further study with staff at this level developing from competent to proficient practitioners. You will accept accountability for your own practice standards, but also activities delegated to others and in the guidance and development of less experienced staff.

As Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM), you will undertake a portfolio within which you will:

  • promote continuity and consistency of care in collaboration with other ANUM and the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) or equivalent at aged care sites
  • Assist the NUM (AN-ACC) in implementation of practice changes

Eligibility

The successful applicant will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.  They will also have at least 3 years post registration nursing experience or be currently classified as a clinical Nurse/Midwife.
