The Blood Technician:

  • Is responsible for the assisting in the delivery of the blood Lead monitoring program, providing blood lead testing and monitoring of children, pregnant women and persons who may be ‘at risk’ of an elevated blood lead level.
  • Is responsible for applying knowledge and professional competence to contribute to comprehensive and integrated range of services which assists the Environmental Health Centre in meeting its objective of reducing the blood lead levels of Port Pirie’s children and families, through an enhanced preventative program.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and appropriate immunisation requirements.



  • DHS Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • National Police Certificate (NPC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups required for this position (general employment)


Immunisation Risk for this position is – Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances)
