Overview

Are you passionate about ensuring the highest standards of medical care? Yorke and Northern Local Health Network is seeking a Director Medical Services to lead our medical teams in delivering safe, effective, and efficient services across our network.

The Director Medical Services is responsible for:

  • Support the Executive Director Medical Services in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medical services
  • Assist in maintaining service provision across the network’s clinical services
  • Provide leadership to medical staff, serving as a role model for professional standards
  • Contribute to the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of medical services, including Clinical Governance, Clinical Risk
  • Management, and Morbidity & Mortality Review
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of a positive health and safety culture, consulting with stakeholders on decisions impacting workplace health and safety

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) or equivalent
  • Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registerable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award
  • Proven leadership in a complex multi-disciplinary environment, enhancing organizational effectiveness and accountability amidst ongoing change
  • Management expertise in healthcare, particularly in change management and risk management strategies
  • Proficiency in continuous improvement practices and resource management, including human, financial, and physical resources
  • Experience collaborating with Aboriginal communities to deliver culturally appropriate health services, alongside managing contracts and implementing strategic plans and policies
