Position Overview

The Clare Valley Wine & Grape Association (CVWGA) is seeking a dynamic and organized Events and Marketing Coordinator, reporting to the executive officer. The primary purpose of this role is to coordinate and execute the CVWGA’s marketing activities in alignment with our strategic goals and marketing plan. This includes the planning and delivery of major events, brand marketing, social media management, and communications.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Event Management
  • Plan, organise and execute major events such as festivals, wine tastings and promotional activities.

2. Partnerships and Sponsorships

  • Acquire and manage sponsors for major events and programs and identify and secure sources of funding to enhance CVWGA’s ability to deliver on strategic marketing objectives

3. Marketing Coordination

  • Be responsible for the delivery of the CVWGA’s Marketing Plan and domestic and international marketing activities, working with CVWGA marketing and events committees to deliver approved projects.
  • Build media relationships and promote the region through PR activities.

4. Social Media and Communications

  • Create content and manage social media campaigns across platforms.
  • Be responsible for communications with trade, media and consumers as well as member communications and engagement.


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • High level communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to establish rapport and build ongoing relationships.
  • Ability to effectively implement time management skills.
  • Ensures deliverables are on time and in budget.
  • Experience in the use of digital marketing platforms, desk-top publishing and on-line business communication and management tools.
  • Shows flexibility to accommodate out of hours work when delivering events, including the ability to work on weekends.
  • Previous experience in the wine, grape, food and tourism industries is desirable.
  • Previous experience in wine marketing, digital marketing, communications, public relations and stakeholder relations is desirable
  • Previous experience in event management is desirable.
  • Tertiary qualification in marketing or another relevant field is desirable.
