Experienced Conveyor Maintenance Technician, Belt Splicer

Position Overview:
We are seeking highly skilled and technically proficient Conveyor Maintenance Technicians, Belt Splicers to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the maintenance, repair, and optimal operation of conveyor systems and fixed plant machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret splice diagrams
- Conveyor system drawings
- Repair diagrams
- Belt cleaner / scraper drawings and installation, coordinates etc
- Plough installations
- Replacement component drawings
- Following OEM’s and procedures
- Alignments of structure, pulley’s, belts and motors
- Belt cleaner / scraper refurbishments and installations
- Fitting Ploughs into the system
- Hard skirts system maintenance and installations
- Structural maintenance and modifications
- Trouble shooting and re-design
- Identify improvement designs to conveyor systems or equipment
- Tracking and alignment of joins and structural components
- Assembling conveyor system and mechanical joins
- Modification and assembly to equipment and machinery used in conveyor maintenance practices
- Assembling of flaking structures, winders, stands, hydraulic pinch drives
- Assemble and operation of hydraulic winding equipment
- Routine inspections to plant, equipment and machinery
- Completing inspection reports
- Completing QA/QC documentation
- Maintenance and repairs
- Trouble shooting
- Assembling conveyor system and mechanical joins
- Modification and assembly to equipment and machinery used in conveyor maintenance practices
- Assembling of flaking structures, winders, stands, hydraulic pinch drives
- Assemble and operation of hydraulic winding equipment
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar role
- Trade Background: Relevant trade experience or mechanical knowledge. Experience in the belting industry is advantageous but not essential. A willingness to learn and adapt is crucial.
- Safety Commitment: Strong commitment to safety practices and protocols.
- Work History: Demonstrated history of working in high-intensity labor roles, particularly within heavy industrial environments such as mining.
- Availability: Flexibility for away work and overtime, including weekend shifts if required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in fault-finding, problem-solving, and a ‘can-do’ attitude towards technical challenges.
- Licenses and Certifications: Current Driver’s License and high-risk work license. Valid Confined Space and Working at Heights tickets. Must be able to pass pre-employment and random Drug & Alcohol screenings. Police clearance is required.
