Overview

We are currently seeking a Nurse Unit Manager to play a pivotal role in patient/client care delivery within the Yorke and Northern Local Health Network (YNLHN). This position involves utilising clinical expertise to coordinate and lead nursing/midwifery or multidisciplinary teams, ensuring continuity and high-quality outcomes for our patients/clients.

Various practice models may be used to enact this role, including but not limited to:

  • Supporting the provision of nursing care in the aged care environment
  • Providing clinical and documentation leadership to nurses within the aged care environment
  • Coordination and leadership of AN-ACC documentation and standards that contribute clinical expertise to improve care recipients outcomes
  • Using clinical expertise and knowledge to ensure the correct level of AN-ACC for individual care recipients.
  • To provide Leecare EMR education and knowledge to nurses working within the aged care environment
  • Ensure consistency across the Yorke and Northern region in regards to assessment
  • Apply and share expert clinical knowledge to improve care recipients outcomes
  • Increase the knowledge base and expertise of nurses and midwives in the area of aged care assessment and documentation and AN-ACC
  • Undertake analysis on funding within AN-ACC and provide reports
  • Culture change for nurses and midwives in regards to the business practices and importance of clinical documentation and AN-ACC
  • Work in partnership with key stakeholders (external and internal) and work collaboratively with General Practitioners
  • Ensure there is standardisation and compliance with documentation

Essential Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Hold, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate
  • Have at least 3 years post registration experience in an Aged Care Environment
  • Experience in management and leadership roles
  • Knowledge of Australian Aged Care Standards
  • Knowledge of Australian National Aged Care Classification System
  • Knowledge of contemporary professional nursing and health care issues
