Who we are

RDA Yorke and Mid North is a not-for-profit incorporated association tasked with working with regional stakeholders and partners to grow the economic prosperity and improve the liveability of the communities of the Yorke and Mid North region.

Our Board and staff are dedicated to making the Yorke and Mid North region an even better place in which to live, work, experience and invest. Our team bring their local knowledge and relationships together with economic, business and community development expertise to work collaboratively with industry, community and government to deliver projects and programs that improve the lives and livelihoods of those living and working in our region.

We are part of a network of 50 RDAs established across Australia under a charter issued by the Australian Government, and are funded by the South Australian and Australian governments and eleven local government authorities within the Yorke and Mid North region (Barunga West Council; Clare and Gilbert Valleys Council; Copper Coast Council; District Council of Peterborough; District Council of Orroroo Carrieton; District Council of Mount Remarkable; Northern Areas Council; Port Pirie Regional Council; Regional Council of Goyder; Wakefield Regional Council; Yorke Peninsula Council).

Board Members

Bill Vandepeer is a Director of Manoora Seeds Pty Ltd, an agribusiness based in the Clare Valley region of South Australia’s Mid-North.

 

Brenton is a mixed-farming business owner in Wandearah East, and previously Mayor of the Port Pirie City Council). He is currently Chair of the Spencer Gulf Uni Hub (Community Owned Tertiary Education Centre). Brenton recently received the Order of Australia Medal for service to the community of Port Pirie.

Paul became a member of Local Government in March 1990 and elected as Mayor for the Copper Coast region in 2000, where he served for 18 years. In 2001 Paul received the Centenary Medal for services to Local Government and became a member of the Order of Australia in June 2017. 

 

Gail lives on the Copper Coast and has been employed at an executive leadership level in public and private sectors for more than 30 years across three Australian states. Her most recent role was at Nyrstar as the Re-development and Communication Manager. 

Vivienne is now retired and lives on the Yorke Peninsula and has been involved in executive and operational positions over the past 30 years. 

Malcolm May is one of the founding members of Balco Australia, which is now one of the country’s leading hay processors and exporters.

 

Lindsay is a partner of Billabong Props in Crystal Brook. Lindsay was previously a Company Director for Pringles Ag Plus. 

Lyndsey is based in the Yorke Peninsula and consults and works with a range of Internet technology and start up organisations, including agtech. 

 

Mr Peter Ackland has been the CEO of the Port Pirie Regional Council since November 2018.

Dr Helen Macdonald became the CEO of the Clare and Gilbert Valley’s Council in February of 2018, after service as CEO of the Naracoorte Lucindale Council for 6 years.

Katina is based in Port Pirie and is the Centre Manager at the Uni Hub Spencer Gulf. Katina previously worked for the Education Department as deputy principal at Solomontown Primary School in Port Pirie. 

Sue is the Mayor of Northern Areas Council. Sue and her husband are also owners and operators of a charming bed and breakfast and olive grove nestled in the picturesque Beetaloo Valley within the Southern Flinders Ranges. 

David is the Chief Executive Officer of the Regional Council of Goyder based in Burra; he has been with Council since 2017. Previously, David was the Director at Grange Advisors.
