Applications Open: FDF TRAIL Emerging Leaders Program Leadership Program

Applications are now open for FDF TRAIL Emerging Leaders Program, an intensive seven-day leadership program delivered by the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation (ARLF) in partnership with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry’s Future Drought Fund (FDF).

This challenge-based program is designed specifically for people working across rural, regional, and remote Australia looking to advance their leadership skills and create positive impact across their organisations, industries and communities.

About the Program

Blending outdoor experiential learning with workshops, panel discussions and real-world scenarios, the program creates a dynamic environment for growth. Participants explore adaptive leadership practices, reflect on their behaviours and values and develop the confidence to lead with purpose through complexity and uncertainty.

A strong emphasis is placed on connection and shared learning. Participants engage with a diverse cohort, experienced facilitators and guest speakers, gaining fresh perspectives and building lasting professional networks. These relationships extend beyond the program, supporting ongoing collaboration and leadership development.

Who Should Apply?

The program is open to future leaders from any rural sector who have previously completed a Future Drought Fund program with the ARLF.

Formal leadership titles, specific roles or a particular age range are not required. This program is for those stepping into greater responsibilities or looking to increase their capacity to lead change within their organisation, industry or local community.
