RDA Yorke and Mid North has partnered with the Office for Early Childhood Development and RDAs Adelaide and Far North in commissioning a series of reference designs to support the development of childcare centres in rural and regional areas of South Australia, developed by leading engineers GHD and architects DAS Studio.
These reference designs (and cost estimation reports) provide a basis for groups to finalise and lodge development and funding applications to establish services in their own communities leveraging common modular designs which may bring down project development and construction costs.
The reference materials set out information including designs, architectural and structural drawings, and cost estimation reports for centres supporting 30, 45 and 60 places.
Groups accessing these designs will still need to work through site-specific considerations (e.g. services connections, engineering designs, infrastructure) and development applications, but can leverage the designs to take advantage of cheaper modular designs.
The reference materials are available free to all non-profit groups developing childcare projects in rural and regional South Australia.

Terms of access and use (the Terms)
Third-party access to, and use of, the Reference Material is contingent on the following terms:
- The accessing party agrees the publisher (RDA Yorke and Mid North) offers and supports no reliance on the Reference Material, and parties access and use solely at their own risk.
- The accessing party remains solely responsible for obtaining all required statutory and regulatory approvals pertaining to a project that makes use of the Report or Document.
- The accessing party agrees to indemnify the publisher (RDA Yorke and Mid North) against any potential losses that may be incurred subsequent to the use of the Reference Material.

Third parties wishing to access copies of the Reference Material are required to provide the following information on their organisation.
